Dr.Kaplan_25July2014Alan S. Kaplan, D.D.S.

Alan Kaplan, D.D.S.,  the senior doctor of Metuchen Dental Group, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. He earned his degree in Dental Surgery at Georgetown University School for Dental Medicine prior to completing his general practice residency at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ, in 1988. His specialty is general and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Kaplan is a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association and Middlesex County Dental Society. As part of Dr. Kaplan's continuing education, he completed a two-year post-graduate program in periodontal diagnosis and treatment at Albert Einstein University Hospital in New York. He also takes advanced education classes in various areas of dentistry at the Jersey Shore Medical Center.

In his spare time, Dr. Kaplan enjoys hiking, biking and skiing.

Dr_Alex_Shalman_24mar14Alex Shalman, D.D.S.

Alex Shalman, D.D.S., an associate of Metuchen Dental Group, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, and completed a Master of Science degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Shalman went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry with Honors in Aesthetic Dentistry. In addition, he has completed the two year Postgraduate Dental Implant  Program at New York University College of Dentistry.

Dr. Shalman is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (where he serves on the University Outreach Committee), American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

As a 5th generation dentist, Dr. Shalman has been passionate about dentistry since an early age. He is constantly attending continuing education workshops and seminars to advance in every facet of dentistry. He is particularly passionate about and inspired by designing smiles using porcelain veneers as well as Invisalign orthodontics.

Dr. Shalman recently led a group to raise $18,500 for the Give Back a Smile charitable group. As a newlywed, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, cooking meals for good friends, and traveling.

IlanIlan Gamburg, D.M.D.

Ilan Gamburg, D.M.D., an associate of Metuchen Dental Group was born in Israel and moved to New Jersey as a child. He graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University in New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Biological Sciences. Dr. Gamburg went on to study dentistry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Upon graduation, he completed a general dentistry residency program at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Dr. Gamburg is a graduate of the advanced Postgraduate Dental Implant Program at NYU College of Dentistry.  He has been trained in all areas of implant dentistry- from the surgical placement of the implant to the final restoration process.

Dr. Gamburg is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the New Jersey Dental Association, and the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society.

As a general family dentist, Dr. Gamburg enjoys working with both adults and children. He strives to make each patient experience as stress-free and comfortable as possible. He regularly attends continuing education courses to help him achieve these goals.

Dr. Gamburg has volunteered as an EMT and participates in the annual Give-Kids-A-Smile-Day. He is fluent in Hebrew, conversational Russian and Spanish. An avid tennis player/coach since he was a child, Dr. Gamburg continues to enjoy playing today.

Dr-KilpatrickSteven Kilpatrick, D.D.S.

Steven Kilpatrick, D.D.S., an associate of Metuchen Dental Group, grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and fondly remembers spending summers on Lake Michigan.  He attended the University of Michigan for both his undergraduate B.S. degree in biology and his graduate D.D.S. degree.  While in dental school, he received the Ida Gray Award for his work with the under-served veteran community.

After graduation, he worked for 3 years in Battle Creek, MI for the National Health Service.  He recently left his private practice in Chicago and relocated to New Jersey for a career opportunity for his wife.

Dr. Kilpatrick regularly attends advanced training courses and seminars so that he may provide the most up-to-date treatment for his patients.  As a general family dentist, he finds it very rewarding to help his patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health.  Dr. Kilpatrick is a member of the American Dental Association and the New Jersey Dental Association.

New to the east coast, Dr. Kilpatrick and his wife are enjoying exploring our area, particularly trying new cuisines and visiting New York City.  He also enjoys a round of golf and watching the Wolverines.
